At Saving Thyme Hull, we are deeply honoured to support those who have served and sacrificed for our country. This year marked the third consecutive year that we had the privilege of donating a buffet for the Alma Company 4th Battalion The Royal Yorkshire Regiment. These brave troops, based at Halifax Barracks in Hull, gathered at the cenotaph for the Remembrance Day ceremony, and we were proud to play a small part in honouring their service.
The annual Remembrance Day commemoration is a significant event in Hull and across the nation, a moment to reflect on the bravery and sacrifices of past and present members of the armed forces. For us, it’s more than a donation—it’s a way to express our heartfelt gratitude to the troops who stand for our freedom and safety.
This year’s buffet was crafted with care and respect, featuring a variety of fresh, locally-sourced dishes that reflected our commitment to quality and our deep appreciation for the Alma Company. From savoury delights to sweet treats, every item was prepared with the goal of bringing comfort and nourishment to those who give so much for others.
As a family-run business, supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do. The opportunity to give back to the troops and contribute to this solemn and significant day is one we hold dear. It’s inspiring to see the courage and dedication of the servicemen and women, and we consider it a privilege to support them in any way we can.

This tradition has grown to be one of the most meaningful parts of our year, and we look forward to continuing it for many years to come. Seeing the smiles and appreciation from the troops reminds us why we do what we do—it’s about bringing people together and making a difference, even in the smallest of ways.
To the Alma Company 4th Battalion The Royal Yorkshire Regiment: thank you for your service and sacrifice. It is an honour to be a part of this day of remembrance and gratitude.
We encourage everyone to take a moment not just on Remembrance Day but throughout the year to reflect on the sacrifices of our armed forces. If you’d like to know more about our involvement or discuss how we can support your event, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Lest we forget. 🌹
